Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at 6 p.m. local time. The ceremony began at 6 p.m. local time in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol, four years after a crowd of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an unsuccessful attempt to prevent Republican Trump from losing to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020.
The inauguration was moved indoors for the first time in 40 years due to the extreme cold. The ceremonial inauguration, which is usually held outside the Capitol, was moved inside due to the extreme cold. Temperatures of -11°C are expected. After the oath, Trump addressed the nation, after which a parade through the city and a trip to the White House are planned. About 200,000 of his supporters are expected at the inauguration.

“We will immediately begin rebuilding our trading system to protect American workers and families,” Trump said.

He added that this will bring “tremendous amounts of money” into the treasury, “coming from foreign sources.”
Trump said he would sign policies that would eliminate government programs for diversity, balance and inclusion.
“This week, I will also end the government’s policy of attempting to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will create a society that is color-blind and based on merit. "Starting today, it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders - male and female," he said.

"We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars we end, and especially the wars we do not enter," he announced.

The presidential oath is set forth in Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution. The oaths of office of other federal officers, including the vice president, are not contained in the Constitution, and Congress created those oaths by law.

All attendees at Donald Trump's inauguration were invited to stand during a prayer delivered by Archbishop of New York Timothy Dolan.
"Send wisdom from heaven to be with him, to know your purposes. Please, God, bless America. Please heal her every flaw. You are the God in whom we believe, who lives and reigns forever. Amen,” Dolan said.
Father Franklin Graham, son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, also said a prayer after Dolan.
"We are praying for President Trump. To protect him, watch over him, guide him, direct him, to give him your wisdom from your throne on high. Please bless him and bless our nation through it,” Graham said.
