The White House announced today that Elon Musk will be leaving his position in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) later this spring, once his "incredible work" is completed.
“Elon Musk and President Donald Trump have both publicly stated that Musk will leave his public service role as a special government employee when his extraordinary work at DOGE is finished. Media exclusives are garbage,” White House Press Secretary Carolyn Livit wrote on her X account.
She criticized the media, referring to an article published today on Politico, which claimed that Trump had told his inner circle and members of his cabinet that Musk would "step down from his current position in the administration in the coming weeks," according to agency reports.
