In new Russian strikes overnight, at least 12 people have been killed in eastern Ukraine, according to rescue services and local authorities. This comes a day after a mass drone and missile attack on the country's energy infrastructure.
Russian forces targeted the center of the town of Dobropillya in the eastern Donetsk region, resulting in at least 11 deaths and 30 injuries, while nine buildings were damaged, rescue services reported via Telegram.
In the Kharkiv region, also in the east, a civilian building in the town of Bohodukhiv was hit, said Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the regional military administration, adding that one person was killed and seven were wounded in the strike.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had intercepted 31 Ukrainian drones overnight.
One drone attack targeted the Kirichi refinery in the Leningrad region, said Governor Aleksandr Drozhdenko. He mentioned that air forces shot down one drone as it approached, and another above the facility. A storage tank was damaged by falling debris.
On Friday, Russia launched a strong attack with drones and missiles on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which prompted a strong response from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump stated on his social media platform "Truth Social" that due to the Russian attacks on Ukraine, he predicts new sanctions on Russia until a ceasefire and a definitive peace agreement are reached.
