Students in blockades have called for a general strike today in Serbia, supported by the extended rector's collegium of the University of Belgrade, the bar association, as well as various unions, associations, and initiatives.
In posts on social media, students in blockades urged citizens to "stop the people around them," go outside, not spend money, and not go to work.
They advised them to take a day off from work or take sick leave and to call colleagues to join them. They also urged them not to go to cafes and restaurants, not to shop in supermarkets, and not to visit cinemas or theaters…
"This is not just a protest, this is a fight for responsibility, justice, and the future…" the students who organized the first general strike on January 24 stated earlier.
A number of high school students also called for a general strike, announcing a protest march in Belgrade today, which will start at Slavija at 3:30 PM and end there.
