Canada Strikes Back: American Alcohol Flying Off the Shelves!

AUTHOR: M.J. GDNUS

In the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador, the sale of alcohol produced in the United States has been suspended in retaliation for the 25% tariffs imposed on Canadian products by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced today that the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) has removed over 3,600 alcoholic products made in the U.S. as part of a response to the tariffs Trump imposed on Canadian goods.

Ford stated that American brands will no longer be available in the LCBO catalog, meaning that retailers, bars, and restaurants in Ontario will no longer be able to replenish their stocks of American alcoholic products, as reported by CTV.

Ford emphasized that Ontario annually sold nearly a billion dollars' worth of American alcoholic beverages. Ontario is one of the largest global buyers of U.S.-made alcohol.

As a result of this move, the U.S. is expected to lose billions of dollars daily.
