Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has received death threats this week, her media advisor Bekim Kupina said.
In a press release, he said that "this week's threat is a continuation of the ongoing threats to President Osmani's life".
Kupina criticized the judiciary for their "inaction" in these cases.
"Despite dozens of threats - mostly to life - no action has been taken against the perpetrators for years," he said.
Kupina said that "in most cases" the threats were made "by name, surname and recognizable profiles", but did not provide further details about the threats and the perpetrators.
"Some threats were even made on television shows, but even then there was no action to hold the creators of the threats accountable", he stressed.
According to him, the case of "consecutive threats to the life of the president and her family is the only one in the history of the institutions, as we were told by the security institutions, in which none of the creators of the threats have been brought to justice." "This dangerous climate encourages others to follow the same pattern: incitement to violence, calls for physical elimination, and complete disregard for the constitutional order," he added.
