Novi Sad: Tensions and incidents in front of SNS premises, several protesters injured, police intervene

Last night, after an almost day-long protest in front of the SNS premises in Novi Sad, the police intervened against supporters and members of the SNS, and the intervention came after the Progressive Party threw eggs and bottles full of water at them. The police cordon used force to push the most aggressive SNS supporters into the party premises on Bulevar oslobođenja. The Progressive Party gathering, as well as the citizens' protest, is still ongoing, and they are being dispersed by police cordons.

Several demonstrators were injured in the incidents when SNS activists hit them in the head with bottles full of water.

An incident occurred in front of the SNS premises in Novi Sad this afternoon when supporters and members of the Serbian Progressive Party threw eggs and bottles at the gathered citizens, to which the citizens returned fire, and then the police cordon stood between them.

Citizens gathered today in front of the SNS premises, where local activists and party officials set up a stand.

Citizens and activists shouted at SNS members “Murderers, murderers”, “Fathers, fathers” and “Pump, pimp”, while the “progressives” responded to citizens with “Ustashes, Ustashes”.

Citizens hold banners that read “We demand elections, we put an end to them”.
