An elderly man approached a guard in a yellow vest during a blockade in front of the Medical Faculty today and pulled a knife on him.
At that moment, the other guards and students disarmed the man.
Subsequently, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Novi Sad arrested M. G. (71) from Bačka Palanka, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of violent behavior.
"It is suspected that, at around 1 p.m., in front of the Medical Faculty, he tried to cut a banner carried by students with a knife," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
By order of the prosecutor, he was ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought, with a criminal complaint, to the Basic Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad.
