Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico published a photo of himself swimming in the Danube despite the cold, after media speculation about his health.
"Just yesterday the journalists were 'concerned' about whether I was breathing at all and whether I was able to climb the stairs to my office... That's why I invited them to the embankment this morning to warm up and swim. I feel like they need it like salt. No one came. I understand. It must have been a little dewy and it must have been colder," wrote Fico on platform X, with a photo of him standing in water up to his waist, completely wet, wearing only a tight T-shirt.
On Sunday, Fico invited journalists to the dam, as a reaction to increasingly frequent questions about his health.
Recently, he has repeatedly canceled or changed his program without further explanation.
He admitted that he has problems after last year's assassination.
"There are certain things that are related to the assassination that at some point prevent me from making the four-hour car journey. I will not tell you more," Fico said.
He added that he is capable of performing physically demanding jobs.
"I have been in politics since 1991, that is 34 years. Sometimes something can happen that makes you unable to function 100 percent every day," he said, according to the Slovak portal Topky.
