He praised them as a "heroic army," and photographs show them to tell them medals on uniforms. The recordings published by the KCNA also shows Kima as the badges of the framed photographs of the killed soldiers, whose names were written in golden letters under pictures.

"My heart hurts and I'm bitter as I face the reality to give a noble personality that gave their precious lives for great victory and fame only over photos on the memorial wall," Kim said in speech. "As I stand in front of the bereaved families of Fall Arms, I don't know how to express my regret and apology for failing to protect our precious sons."

Northern Koreans in the Russian battlefield

Last year, North Korea started sending a significant number of soldiers and equipment as support for Russian war, after the high-level meetings between Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Although both countries initially deny any deployment, they later publicly recognized the participation of Pyongjang forces.

Kimov regime was long silent on the reports of heavy losses in the coat, which is why this Sunday ceremony represents rarely recognition of the devastating impact of war on their forces.

Ukrainian and American intelligence services estimate that there are about 12,000 North Korean soldiers in Russia, and the first ones arrived in the fall of 2024. years. Since then, about 4,000 soldiers were killed or wounded. Although North Korean soldiers lack a recent combat experience, analysts warn that they should not be underestimated, because they are likely to come from elite and highly indoctrinated units.

Ukrainian special forces described the CNN brutal and almost suicidal tactics of the North Koreans, including cases in which soldiers activated the bombs of hand to avoid capture. Despite heavy losses, cooperation continues.

New intelligence data suggests that Pyongjang intends to triple the number of its soldiers in Russia, sending an additional 25,000 to 30,000 people in the coming months. It caused fears what Moscow could provide in return, like advanced space, satellite or nuclear technology.
