The Israeli army announced this morning that it targeted Yemeni Houthi ports and energy infrastructure in response to a rocket attack on Israel, and rebel-controlled media in Yemen reported that nine people were killed in the strikes.
“Israeli Air Force fighter jets targeted military targets belonging to the terrorist Houthi rebel regime,” the army said in a statement.
The attacks targeted “ports and energy infrastructure” in the capital Sanaa, which the Houthis use to support their military operations.
The Israeli army condemned the Houthi rebel attacks on Israel.
“The terrorist Houthi regime fired another missile at central Israel tonight,” an Israeli army spokesman said, adding that Israel will not hesitate to defend itself.
Warning sirens have been activated in Israel due to the danger of falling fragments of rockets that the Israeli army has intercepted.
