Tense in Serbia tonight as well. Students and citizens, who gathered at a protest on Aviatičarski trg in Zemun for the pardon of Milica Stojanović, are currently in front of the SNS board on Džona Kenedija Street, where they were met by progressives. A group of citizens and SNS supporters in New Belgrade are being separated by a gendarmerie cordon, and there was even an incident when one of the progressives ran into a young man.
Sympathizers and members of the Serbian Progressive Party of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić threw eggs at citizens this evening, and they returned fire.
Various objects, mostly eggs and bottles, flew between the two groups. The gendarmerie, N1 reports, did not react at first, and then began to push back the citizens. Members of the Serbian Interior Ministry's Intervention Unit then escorted the SNS activists to the offices of the Serbian Progressive Party.
In front of the SNS headquarters on John Kennedy Street, a verbal clash broke out between military veterans and SNS supporters.
The progressives called the veterans "Ustashas". At one point, a loud cannon shot was heard, and part of the assembly and students went to the other side to check what was going on, N1 reports.
