Signed memorandum on cooperation of Montenegrin associations in Albania

On October 21, in Shkodër, on the initiative of the charge d'affaires a.i. Embassy of Montenegro in Tirana, Mr. Pavla Karanikić, a meeting was held with representatives of Montenegrin associations "Community of Montenegrins in Albania" from Elbasan and "Montenegro" from Shkodra. The purpose of the meeting is closer cooperation of the association with the aim of reorganizing the Montenegrin national minority in Albania. The meeting was also used for the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between these two associations.
The meeting was also attended by the representative of the Montenegrin minority at the Government of Albania, Mr. Marinko Ćulafić, president of the Association "Montenegro" Mr. Bane Siknić, vice-president Mrs. Nersada Mandić, representative of the ZCGA association, Mr. Nikola Sudar and other members of these two associations.
The following day, Marinko Ćulafić, as a representative of the Montenegrin national minority in Albania, met with the state secretary in the Ministry of Diaspora of Montenegro, Mr. Adel Omeragić, as well as independent advisor Mr. Zoran Đukanović, with whom he discussed all the problems faced by the Montenegrin minority, the need for cooperation in support of the reorganization of Montenegrin associations in Shkodër and Tirana, and other topics important for our community in Albania. It was agreed that a meeting between the two leaders of the two institutions, the Minister for the Diaspora of Montenegro Mr. Mirsad Azemović and the president of the Committee for National Minorities of Albania, Mrs. Konstantine Beziani.
Then the representative of the Montenegrin minority visited Matica Montenegrin, where he met with the general secretary Mr. Ivan Ivanovic. The topic of the conversation was the continuation of close cooperation within the implementation of joint activities, the goal of which is the preservation of the Montenegrin identity and the promotion of historical events and personalities of Montenegrin origin who left their mark on Albanian society.
