With good music and in the cheerful mood of numerous visitors of all generations, the Spring Market, one of the favorite manifestations of Podgorica, which gives liveliness and a special touch to the center of our capital city, was officially opened last night at Independence Square at 7 p.m.
From 7:00 p.m., the popular Podgorica KIC pop choir "rocked" the audience with their well-known repertoire, while from 9:00 p.m. they enjoyed a concert by the Kira band. In such a spirit, with a rich gastronomic offer and numerous other contents, visitors will be able to enjoy themselves until May 21, when this manifestation lasts. Both exhibitors and visitors hope that the next 15 days will be good weather, and they expect that there will be no shortage of good mood and entertainment in the main city square.
HANGING OUT
Addressing the crowd, the mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac, expressed her satisfaction that the KIC pop choir created a good mood in the audience, with the promise that there will be no shortage of good music, fun and socializing in the coming days.
- I am proud that Podgorica is constantly improving its programs, thanks to this and similar manifestations and events throughout the year, we have something to offer all fellow citizens and visitors. May in our city always carries a special energy, and spring in itself symbolizes awakening and joy of life, so this is a great opportunity to connect and enjoy interesting programs and new friendships together. A rich cultural and artistic program awaits you, and I believe you had the opportunity to see part of the gastronomic offer here on the square - said Injac.
With the desire to support local manufacturers, i.e. the local economy, the city administration has also this time, through a public call, given prefabricated buildings - houses to citizens free of charge.
The mayor thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the Spring Bazaar.
- I would like to highlight the importance of the Tourism Organization Podgorica, especially the director Dragan Grnović, who gave his best to make a good program, as well as the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City and the respected secretary Ana Medigović and her team, but also the whole team, which is less visible, and they worked each from their own point of view, to contribute to the meaningful program and improvement of the organization. However, all this would not have been possible without the help of Erste Bank, which is the sponsor of this year's market. I would also like to thank the delegation of the European Union in Montenegro, which supported us in the organization of this event - said Injac, declaring the Spring Market open and expressing her belief that Independence Square will be the center of beautiful, cultural events and good entertainment in the coming days.
A diverse program for children and adults
As part of the Spring Market until May 21st, fellow citizens and visitors of Podgorica can expect concerts by popular local and regional performers, events for the youngest, performances by DJs and bands from Podgorica. On the main town square tonight from 7 pm they will be able to enjoy the performance of Marija Božović, and from 9 pm the performance of the Forte band.
And for tomorrow, they have prepared various contents - the Art School for Music and Ballet "Vasa Pavić" will perform at 7 p.m., DJ Perrota will take over the stage from 8 p.m., from 9 p.m. there will be "Under the Starlight" - Graduation Dance. At the end of the evening, from 10 p.m. the audience will be entertained by the Abba tribute band.
Diva of sevdah Amira Medunjanin will perform on Saturday, May 11, while Željko Samardžić, a recognizable regional musical name, will complete the celebration of our country's Independence Day on May 21. In addition to the aforementioned, local performers will also perform: Bane Nedović, Nina Žižić, Tina Džankić, band Vis tetra, Marija Božović, Edis Agić, Forte band and Nemanja Petrović. As part of the program for the youngest, the "Stars" Choir, Sonrisa Dance Club, and children from Elementary School "21" will perform. maj", kindergarten "Naše malo kraljestvo", animators "Rent a party", Valentina and Zvjezdica, as well as many others.
