Trump Announces He Is Open to Negotiations on Tariffs

AUTHOR: M.J. GDNUS

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he is open to negotiations regarding the tariffs he imposed. However, he warned that the countries affected will need to offer something "phenomenal."

Regarding the market value drop after his decision to impose tariffs, Trump noted that this was expected. He emphasized that it was a necessary step to heal the U.S. economy.

He also mentioned that he had a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and announced that Netanyahu might visit the United States next week.

Trump revealed that an agreement on the Chinese app TikTok is close, stating that it involves several investors, and that he would reduce U.S. tariffs on China in exchange for Beijing approving the sale of TikTok.

He also added that the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk, can stay in the position for as long as he wants, but could also leave in a few months, stressing that DOGE would continue to operate even after Musk’s departure.

Trump is also confident that Iran wants direct negotiations with the U.S. over its nuclear program.

"I think they are concerned, that they feel vulnerable, and I don’t want them to feel that way," Trump said.
