After last night's drama when members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior prevented three SIPA inspectors from delivering an arrest warrant to entity President Milorad Dodik, this morning the situation in front of the RS Government building in East Sarajevo is calmer, but a large number of police officers are still present.
A photojournalist for the Klix.ba portal reports that a large number of members of the RS Ministry of Interior are still present around the headquarters of the entity government in East Sarajevo, blocking the side streets of the building and not allowing media teams to approach the fence of the entity government building.
Due to this security, it is assumed that Dodik and his associates spent the night in this building and that they will continue their activities on the territory of Republika Srpska today.
Let us recall that upon learning that a meeting was being held in the Administrative Center of the RS Government in East Sarajevo, which Dodik was also attending, three SIPA inspectors arrived at the gate of this building. This is the first "attempt" to bring Dodik in for questioning since the warrant was issued.
SIPA said that during the attempt to reach Dodik, they were threatened with the use of force. For this reason, this act by the RS MUP members should be documented as the criminal offense of "Armed Rebellion".
Dodik himself commented on this situation at a press conference held last night.
"Does anyone really think that the police, which are responsible for protecting institutions, would bow down to the occupying force called SIPA, the Court, the Prosecutor's Office and Schmidt. That guy is a fool", said Dodik. He added that he feels safe and that "he will not leave the facility under pressure".
Dodik was protected last night by members of the East Sarajevo Police Department, members of the RS MUP Gendarmerie and the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ). All of them stood armed before the SIPA inspectors, not allowing them to enter the facility.
By preventing SIPA members from arresting Dodik, for whom the Court of BiH has issued a central arrest warrant, members of the RS Ministry of Interior are participating in preventing the BiH judicial authorities from reaching the suspects in criminal cases.
As a reminder, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina previously issued a central arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik, as well as for the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković and the President of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandić.
