Ukrainians strike drone plant 1,000 kilometers deep in Russia

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

The Ukrainian military announced tonight that it had hit a long-range drone production facility in Tatarstan, damaging a key assembly line.

Since the start of the three-year war, Russia has widely used Shehide, Iranian autonomous kamikaze drones, as well as other types of drones for strikes across Ukraine.

Ukraine said it had shot down 134 Russian drones. "So far, we know that the assembly line for UAVs, unmanned aerial vehicles, has been damaged," the Ukrainian commander-in-chief said on Telegram, adding that the capacity of the damaged facility is 300 drones per day.

Local authorities in Elabuga reported one drone downed, and Mash, a Telegram channel close to Russian security services, reported that at least four drones had been shot down near the factory in that city.

Ukrainian forces in charge of drones and other units carried out explosions near the facility, 1,054 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, the Ukrainian General Staff said.
