High school students have announced that they are setting off from Belgrade on a two-day walk to Novi Sad, and they are gathering near Ušće.
A large number of high school students, as reported by the N1 reporter, gathered near Ušće, and 650 of them have officially registered for the walk.
They should arrive in Inđija at around 9 pm, where they will spend the night, and continue their journey to Novi Sad tomorrow.
Isidora Jovanović, a graduate of the Fifth Belgrade Gymnasium, says that they are setting off on the journey at the invitation of their peers from Novi Sad.
"Who are holding the 'Online is not the way' protest on Saturday. Most high schools have returned to classes due to pressure - either online or regular, the struggle of high school students continues, this is one of the ways we protest against this normalization of classes in the circumstances that are happening in the country. We do not want to give up on supporting the students' demands until they are met and the institutions start working in Serbia. This type of walk, which we organized almost unplanned, is a great support for Novi Sad high school students who are under great pressure in schools, and since this week, pressure has also started on schools in Belgrade, which have been the most persistent in some way," she says.
She announces that more than 30 schools are starting from Belgrade, and high schools and vocational schools have also registered.
"People are also coming from other cities, Niš, Kragujevac, Valjevo... People from Valjevo and Šabac, Užice, are taking a different route, but they are also walking and have their own column that will go through Srem to Novi Sad, so that the entire event will be on the same level as in Novi Sad," she says. As reported by the N1 reporter, the traffic police will secure this large column.
