A spokeswoman for the French government said on March 5 that a joint trip to Washington by the French and Ukrainian presidents and the British prime minister is planned.
She noted that the trip of Emmanuel Macron, Volodymyr Zelensky and Keir Starmer should take place at short notice, but did not specify a date.
Macron had previously announced that he would address the nation on March 5, and a special summit of European leaders dedicated to the defense of Ukraine is scheduled for March 6.
In his address to Congress, US President Donald Trump said earlier that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had informed him that he was ready to talk with Russia about ending the war in his country and had offered to sign an agreement on Ukrainian mineral resources "at any time".
After a week of turmoil that culminated in the US announcing the suspension of military aid to Ukraine following a verbal clash between the Ukrainian and American presidents in Washington, Trump told a joint session of Congress on March 4 that Zelensky had sent him a letter expressing his willingness to sit at the negotiating table.
