BREAKING NEWS - Katz: Israel will attack Iranian dictator; Iran: Attack on state TV was a vile act and a war crime

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

The conflict between Iran and Israel escalated after Israeli forces carried out extensive attacks on Iranian nuclear and military targets on Friday, killing several senior Iranian officials and scientists. Iran retaliated with rocket attacks on Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, killing civilians and causing significant material damage.

Several dozen people have been killed on both sides so far, and the conflict has raised serious concerns among the international community, including G7 leaders, who are calling for de-escalation. The United States is advising its citizens to avoid traveling to Israel due to the unpredictable security situation.

At the same time, Russia supports Iran's right to defend itself, while Turkey and Russia are calling for a diplomatic solution to the conflict. The European Union rejects Russia as an impartial mediator. The situation remains tense with the possibility of a regional escalation.

An overview of today's developments in the Israel-Iran conflict is available here, and below we are publishing new information chronologically.

19:56 Iran: We will continue to bombard Israel

Official Tehran said that it will continue to "bombard" Israel until the attacks on the Islamic Republic are stopped

"Our powerful armed forces show the world that the war criminals hiding in the shelters of Tel Aviv will not go unpunished for their actions," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on the X network on Monday.

"We will continue to bomb these cowards as long as necessary, until they stop shooting at our people," he added.

19:27 Araqchi: Trump could stop the attacks with a single call

Donald Trump could stop Israeli attacks on Iran "with a single call," says Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

“A single call from Washington is enough to silence someone like [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu. That could pave the way for a return to diplomacy,” Araqchi said in a message posted on the X platform today, wondering if Donald Trump “takes diplomacy seriously and wants to stop the war.”

“Israel must stop its aggression, and unless the military attack on us is completely stopped, our reactions will continue,” the Iranian foreign minister added.

Sirens sounded in several areas of northern Israel after the Israeli military said missile attacks from Iran were detected.

“A short time ago, sirens sounded in several areas of northern Israel after missiles were detected being launched from Iran towards the State of Israel,” the military said in a statement. “The Israeli Air Force is currently working to intercept and, if necessary, neutralize the threat,” it added in a message posted on its Telegram channel.

Katz: Israel will attack “Iranian dictator wherever he is”

“The Iranian regime’s propaganda and incitement machinery was targeted by [the Israeli military] after the mass evacuation of the population from surrounding areas,” Israeli Defense Minister Katz said today, referring to the power centers of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“We will attack the Iranian dictator wherever he is,” the Israeli defense minister also warned.

18:10 Iranian state television resumes broadcasting

Iranian state television has resumed live broadcasting after being briefly interrupted by an Israeli attack on a building in Tehran, a broadcaster official said.
