AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

Iran launched a new wave of rocket attacks on Israel last night, and according to official figures from Israeli emergency services, at least four people were killed and more than a hundred were injured. The targets were parts of central Israel, including the area around Tel Aviv.

The attacks came after the Israeli military confirmed earlier today that it had carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure. The Iranian Oil Ministry claims that the Shahran oil depot in Tehran was hit.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian threatened that the response would be even "heavier and stronger" if Israel did not withdraw. Meanwhile, Oman confirmed that talks between Tehran and Washington on Iran's nuclear program, scheduled for Sunday, have been officially canceled.

Death toll rises in clashes

The Iranian Health Ministry announced that Israeli attacks have killed 224 people across the country since Friday.

This is almost a hundred more than the 128 deaths officially confirmed so far.

Iranian media: Fourth phase of operation against Israel begins

Iran's semi-official Mehr News agency reported that the fourth phase of Iran's operation against Israel, called Operation True Promise 3, has begun.

According to the agency, the latest attack saw hundreds of ballistic missiles of various types fired at residential buildings and infrastructure in Israel. The attacks are described as a "decisive response" to Israel's first strike on Iran, which killed senior military commanders.

Iranian authorities said they would "respond firmly to any Israeli adventurism," Mehr reported. Israelis kill Iranian military intelligence chief

Iran launched a new wave of missile attacks on Israel overnight, and according to official figures from Israeli emergency services, at least 14 people were killed and more than a hundred were injured. The attacks followed the Israeli military's earlier confirmation that it had carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure.

Iran's Oil Ministry claims that the Shahran oil depot in Tehran was hit. Iranian President Masoud Pezizkian threatened that the response would be "even more severe and powerful" if Israel did not withdraw.

Iran confirmed that Mohammad Kazemi, the head of the intelligence unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in the Israeli strikes.

According to reports on Iranian state television and the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency, his deputy Hassan Mohaqeq and commander Mohsen Baqeri were also killed in the attacks.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier told Fox News: "I can tell you that we have eliminated their chief intelligence officer and his deputy in Tehran."

Shops close, gas lines line up, Iranians flee Tehran in droves

After Israeli strikes on Tehran earlier today, many residents are trying to get out of the city and seek shelter in more remote areas. Shops have been closing one after another, and long lines have formed at gas stations, the BBC's Iran correspondent reports.

"I don't think I have fully understood yet that I am living in an active war zone. This is not my war. I am not rooting for either side, I just want to survive with my family," said one resident who managed to leave the city.

Iran's IRNA news agency also published an aerial photograph showing a large convoy of cars trying to leave Tehran.
