A two-day meeting of foreign ministers from NATO member countries begins today in Brussels.
According to the official NATO website, the meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte.
The foreign ministers will discuss strengthening the Alliance’s defense capabilities, as European countries face increasing pressure from the United States to boost defense spending, as reported by CNN.
Rutte previously stated that the meeting comes at a "particularly critical time for collective security, with challenges too big to face alone."
The meeting is expected to include U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha, and the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
