Vučić: Macut Appointed as Prime Minister Designate for the Formation of Serbia’s New Government

The Prime Minister designate for the formation of the new government of Serbia is Đuro Macut, announced Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić at a press conference.

The deadline for the election of the new government in the National Assembly of Serbia is April 18 at midnight.

Vučić emphasized that Serbia needs unity, peace, and stability.

"Due to internal tensions in society, we are unable to fully recognize all the risks and challenges we face," he stated.

He also warned about the difficult political situation in the region, especially in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"In our country and in Serbia, unity, peace, and stability are necessary. Due to the tensions present in our society, we are not able to see all the dangers and problems. The situation in the region is very difficult, especially the political situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, where verdicts have been passed against the president, the president of the National Assembly, and the Prime Minister," Vučić said.

Who is Đuro Macut?

Professor Dr. Đuro Macut was born in Belgrade, where he graduated, obtained his master's, and doctorate degrees at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. He specialized in reproductive medicine and biology at the University of Geneva and the World Health Organization.

He is one of the most recognized global experts in the field of endocrinology, according to b92.

From 2015 to 2023, he was a member of the Expert Council of the University Clinical Center of Serbia.

He is the Deputy Director of the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases at the University Clinical Center of Serbia.

He is a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade, in the Department of Internal Medicine, and a visiting professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Athens and at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Skopje.

He is the president of the Serbian Society for Reproductive Endocrinology.
